In the prestigious setting of Aeronautica Palace took place on 25 October Conference from the title “One Hundred Years of the Italian Air Force – One Hundred Years of the Air Force Commissary Corps”, an event which was celebrated, in the presence of Chief of Staff of the Air Force Air Force General Luca Goretti, the centenary of the Corps' establishment.
At the meeting, aimed at highlighting the role that the Corps plays in serving the Armed Force in relations with public institutions through the intervention of authoritative speakers, the highest Authorities of the Armed Force, the Heads of the Italian Army and Navy Corps, the retired Heads of the Air Force Supply Corps, the senior officers of the Supply Corps, the Administrative Service Heads – representing the Corps' operational capacity within the peripheral branches of the Armed Force – and a significant quota of trainee Supply Officers who are completing their training at the Air Force Academy in Pozzuoli took part.
It Chief of Staff, in his opening address, highlighted how the events related to the Centenary of the Armed Force, besides having a celebratory connotation, essentially constitute a vehicle to make known and appreciated by the community of citizens “What men and women of the Air Force are capable of doing”The General Goretti He expressed the hope that the Commissariat Corps will become increasingly open to the outside, fostering productive relationships with Public Institutions to achieve a virtuous osmotic process. He concluded by stating that the profound meaning to be attributed to this festive day is the ability to learn from the past in order to project into the future.
The speakers were: the Public Prosecutor at the Military Court of Rome – Dr. Antonio Sabino, the Central Director of the Central Office for Administrative Inspections of the Ministry of Defence – Dr. Marina Iaderosa, the President of ENAV – Ms. Alessandra Bruni, the Councillor of the Court of Auditors and Deputy Secretary-General – Dr. Francesco Targia, the Secretary-General of the State Attorney's Office – Mr. Maurizio Greco, as well as retired Gen. Isp. Capo Giuseppe Montefusco, Head of the Corps, from October 2004 to December 2006, as the dean among the Heads of the Air Force Supply Corps.
It Head of the Air Force Commissary Corps, Chief Inspector General Sergio W. M. Li Greci, During his speech, he highlighted the foresight shown by the founding fathers in identifying the Commissariat Corps as the component that the Armed Force needed and still needs to fully carry out its duties. In this regard, explained General Li Greci, the Corps serves as the lifeblood for the proper functioning of the Armed Force, just as blood is for the human body. On the other hand, the Head of the Corps continued with an example: “The role played daily by all Officers belonging to the Corps can be likened to electric current because it is there even if you cannot see it.”.
During the works, the Head of Corps had the opportunity to present the Book dedicated to the history of the Commissariat Corps, its evolution over time and future prospects, entitled: “The Air Force Commissariat 100 years in service of the Italian Air Force”Finally, he concluded by urging the serving Corps Officers to be key players in the present and the future, as implementers of the Air Force centenary motto: “en route for the future”.
