It was patented in 1915. It was an enormous triplane that sacrificed everything for a huge warload.
The prototype was fitted with three 200 hp Isotta-Fraschini V5 engines.
The Ca.4 were issued to the 181st and 182nd squadrons, both based at Ghedi (BS).
