The Hanriot HD.1 was a compact, single-seat biplane fighter powered by a 120 hp Le Rhone 9J rotary engine. The structure was wooden, covered in canvas.
The aircraft began equipping Italian squadrons from 1917.
The good general characteristics, manoeuvrability and wide availability allowed the Hanriot a long post-war service life.
Today, three HD.1s remain, one of which is on display at the MUSAM in Vigna di Valle (RM).
