I therefore thank the staff of the various departments, the security agencies and the law enforcement forces, as well as all the representatives of ENAC, of Rome Airports and of the structures of the National Health System, with whom we have often found ourselves working closely in providing assistance to fellow citizens, often of pediatric age, in imminent danger of life. A heartfelt thank you was therefore extended to all the staff: “To all of you, men and women of the 31st Stormtrooper Squadron, I take this opportunity to say, from the depths of my heart, thank you and “well done,” and, in that regard, guarantee you that it has been a true honor for me to celebrate with you the Centenary of the Armed Forces and the ninetieth anniversary of the Department.

Degni, I extend the most sincere, genuine and heartfelt thanks for the trust they have shown in me. This is a task that I consider an absolute privilege and that I am committed to honouring by putting at the disposal of the best of my skills and professional ethics. Moreover, I am aware that this Department and the people who make it up represent the State that puts itself at the service of its citizens, accompanying in Italy and abroad the High State and Government officials, helping to support and guarantee the vital functions of democracy. And – above all – through emergency and humanitarian medical transport, it is the personnel of the Department that represents the State in person in front of its citizens. All this is possible only with an exceptional sense of duty. Without you, citizens would not be able to enjoy the services that they often don’t even know exist until the moment of need arrives.

When taking the floor, the General Degni he wished to praise the work carried out by Colonel Somma during his command, highlighting how under his leadership the Department has ensured continuity “the transport of high-ranking state officials and government authorities around the world and the most silent and delicate emergency medical transport activity in favor of our compatriots in situations of risk, which testify to how the Stormo is an important resource at the service of the community. He therefore offered his best wishes to Colonel Angori “For a fruitful and rewarding period. The Armed Forces have recognized in you the moral qualities and the necessary skills and have entrusted you with a great responsibility. I guarantee my personal support and that of my Command to enable you to work serenely, aspiring together to ever more ambitious goals. He finally concluded by recognizing the personnel of the 31st Air Wing “Strong versatility and a drive with which he tackles both ordinary and extraordinary tasks, always and everywhere. Working as a team is in the DNA of this Stormo, heir to the formation flights. Therefore, continue working together, each contributing their part to ensure the operationality required to achieve increasingly ambitious goals. Beyond the numbers, statistics, and official accolades, I believe the greatest and most rewarding feedback for all that you do comes from the gratitude of those you have helped in times of difficulty.”.
