Officially known as the “Sturzkampfflugzeug” (dive bomber, abbreviated to Stuka), the Ju.87 was a two-seater, all-metal, large, single-engine aircraft with a fixed undercarriage and inverted gull wings.
From 1940 to 1943, the Regia Aeronautica received over 160 Stukas. They were used intensely on numerous fronts for various purposes, such as armed reconnaissance, convoy escort, and more.
It was used until 1945.
