On the occasion of Italian Grand Prix In Monza, in fact, 9 MB-339PAN aircraft flew over the starting grid of the car race, unfurling the world's longest Tricolore in the sky.

The Italian Air Force Aerobatic Team's flypast took place just after the final notes of the Mameli Anthem. The flyover of the Monza National Autodrome is now a traditional event, repeated every year since 2015, and is highly appreciated by fans of the automotive and aeronautical worlds.

This particular flypast has even greater significance because it took place in the centenary year of the Italian Air Force’s establishment as an autonomous armed force, which occurred in 1923. One hundred years of history: the same as the “Temple of Speed” which celebrated them just last year.

History, speed, innovation, technology, engines and team spirit have always united the Flying Departments of the Italian Air Force, the Monza National Autodrome and Formula 1 teams. Ever since the Armed Force was established in 1923, the men and women in blue have operated daily in service of the country with innovation and modernity.
