High-wing monoplane, single-engine, single-seat (two-seat for the AS.2), touring aircraft.
The prototype, powered by an 85 hp Walter radial engine, made its first flight on 3 July 1928.
In August 1929, 250 units were ordered. The scale of production made it possible to widely distribute the AS.1 to various flying clubs.
The Fiat monoplanes were protagonists of numerous category records and raids.
Requirements from the Germans were sent for scrap after the armistice.
