E’ passato mezzo secolo da quando lo Stato Maggiore dell’Aeronautica individuò nella pattuglia della 4ª Aerobrigata “Cavallino Rampante” il nucleo originario dal quale sarebbe nato il 313° Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale “Frecce Tricolori”. In quel lontano 1960 il “Cavallino Rampante” ricopriva il ruolo di pattuglia di riserva del team titolare dei “Getti Tonanti” della 5ª Aerobrigata nel rispetto della pratica di affidare a turno ai reparti da caccia dell’Aeronautica la responsabilità di preparare una rappresentativa acrobatica.

Gli F-86E Sabre erano i velivoli utilizzati nelle prime esibizioni del nuovo reparto, appartenenti a quei caccia della serie “80” che hanno svolto un ruolo chiave negli anni difficili ma esaltanti della ricostruzione della nostra forza aerea.

Half a century has passed since the Air Force General Staff identified the 4th Aerobrigade “Cavallino Rampante” (Rampant Little Horse) patrol squadron as the starting point for the foundation of the 313th Aerobatic Training Group of the National Aerobatic Team. Back in 1960 the “Cavallino Rampante” played the role of reserve patrol squadron of the 5th Aerobrigade’s regular team “Getti tonanti” (Thundering Jets), observing the practice of entrusting, the various Air Force fighter teams, in turn, with the responsibility of preparing an aerobatic performance. The F-86E Sabre – belonging to the “80” fighters series that played a key role during the difficult but exciting years of the reconstruction of our air force - was the aircraft used at the first displays of the newly-created division team.
